An employer paid policy, for the benefit of the employee to be able to reclaim costs for routine and everyday dental treatments. This would cover your employees for preventative and restorative treatments such as dental examination, hygiene, extractions, and fillings. Contracts are generally annually renewable, with the opportunity to enhance or reduce cover during the renewal window each year.
Dental insurance policies vary by provider and policy level, and there are many options to choose from, ranging from basic to more comprehensive plans. Employees may be able to receive treatments from registered NHS practices or private dentists, they can then claim the money back up to the benefit limit of the policy in place. Some providers do offer direct settlement meaning the employee will not need to pay upfront for their treatment.
When purchasing your policy, our consultants will complete a full analysis giving you the choice between several plans and cover levels. The type of policy you purchase will determine what your employees are covered for and what isn’t included within your plan. In addition to preventative and restorative treatments, cover is available for emergency, dental accident or injury, surgical implants, and oral cancer for example. You may have access to worldwide cover, orthodontics or mouthguards depending on the policy and level chosen.
There will be limits on the amount an employee can claim against dental treatments. These limits are often set annually, and if an employee receives treatment that exceeds these limits, they will be required to pay the difference.
